Rodney Smith was a prominent photographer whose whimsical work invited comparison to that of surrealist painter Rene Magritte. Long acclaimed for his iconic black and white images that combine portraiture and landscape, Smith created enchanted worlds full of subtle contradictions and surprises. Using only film and light, his un-retouched, dream-like images are matched in quality by the craft and physical beauty of his prints.

Rodney Smith has inspired me through the camera techniques he had applied when taking pictures, As shown the main focus of the pictures is the model in the middle, but the background is set in a presented way of blur yet clearness when focused upon.

Doug Chinnery’s Photography work has inspired me by the artistic techniques he uses, making his photography look more like a painting, using the difference of color and advanced photoshopping skills.

As my final photography unit, I will be traveling to Philippines, and helping less fortunate kids there, Where I will also take photos of they’re reactions and daily life’s. This project will reflect the loneliness, pain and suffer this kids go through every day, yet still shows their emotions towards the situation, making them happy and proud to where they’ve reached.
